  • Enjoy a walk in the Lingebos. In warm weather, there's also a recreational lake.

  • A nice bike trip in the area: cycle over the dike from Spijk, to Leerdam, Kedichem, Arkel, and back again.

  • Cycle along the Giessen and visit the small local shops in the adjoining villages. Take a break in the picnic meadow of Hannes Heerlijkheid.

  • Looking for something completely different? Book a padel court at Padel by Lars and hit a few balls.

Want an activity, but maybe a little less active? Then try Atelier Dot where you can paint ceramics . You can also have a fun evening out at pool center De Munt .

  • Discover the surroundings from the water! There are many different places where you can rent a boat. And whether you sail on the Giessen or the Linge, both are in a beautiful area.

  • Visit the Graanbuurt in Giessenburg. Here you'll find many local shops and some small restaurants.

  • Fort Vuren is part of the Holland Waterline. Very fun to visit, perhaps in combination with a bike ride or the ferry.

  • In Vuren, visit IJsboerderij De Oude Schuur for incredibly delicious ice cream! There's also a play area for children.

  • Cheese farm Aan de Linge in Spijk is very nice to visit. Children can even have a look at the cows in the barn!
