In collaboration with the ROC Da Vinci College and Van der Valk Hotel Gorinchem-A15, we offer a vocational training program focused on the hospitality industry. It is a practical training program with an accelerated 2-year trajectory. Students have one day of classes during the week and work on the other days at the workplace. All classes are taught by teachers from the Da Vinci College, who come to the hotel for this purpose! The ideal training program where you gain practical experience right away.
Both programs include general subjects such as Dutch, English, Mathematics, Career Development, and Citizenship, as well as vocational subjects; please refer to the specific programs for more information.
Vocational training for host/hostess
Host/hostess level 3
You are a hard worker, enthusiastic, and you love to make guests feel at home! As an independent working host/hostess, you are the face of the restaurant, party, or event. You ensure that guests feel welcome, enjoy their visit, and leave more than satisfied.
What are you going to learn?
Vocational subjects (including receiving guests, creating and maintaining atmosphere, taking & serving orders, inventory management, leadership).
General subjects (Dutch, English, Mathematics, and Career & Citizenship)
Vocational training for independent chef.
Independent working chef level 3
Working in the kitchen can be hectic. By working closely together and communicating clearly with the chefs and the service staff, you ensure that the work runs smoothly. As an independent working chef, you contribute to the development of the menu and think about ways to improve the quality.
What are you going to learn?
Vocational subjects (including knowledge of ingredients, cooking techniques, kitchen inventory, kitchen stock, safety and hygiene, leadership)
General subjects (Dutch, English, Mathematics, and Career & Citizenship)

Van der Valk Hotel Gorinchem-A15
Op 16 februari 2027 organiseren we een open dag om kennis te maken met onze opleidingen. Van 15.00 tot 18.00 uur krijg je een kijkje achter de schermen, maak je kennis met de opleidingen en krijg je een rondleiding. Natuurlijk is er volop gelegenheid om vragen te stellen en alles te weten te komen over de mogelijkheden, de opleiding en de praktijk. Kom je ook? Meld je dan aan!
