Fort Vuren and Fort Altena

Fort Vuren is a tower fort built in 1845 and is part of the Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie, as is Fort Altena. From these forts there are good opportunities for cycling and hiking, take the LAW-Waterline path or the Klompenpad (start near the entrance of the fort) for example. Would you rather explore the surroundings by bike? There are bikes for rent at Fort Vuren for 15 euro per day or rent your bike at Van der Valk Hotel Gorinchem and start the tour on a sporty note!

Exciting fortress island Geofort

Geofort, an exciting fortress island where everything revolves around the earth! Playfully you will learn how big data will be an added value in the future, how a smartphone knows your location and what new energy sources are available. This is truly the place for young and old to explore underground passages, mazes and other interesting (learning) paths.
